God is in the details...a lot!

It happened again today. When we need to talk to someone specific and they just happen to walk by right when we needed them.  This happens at least once a week.  Let me give you just a few recent examples. Today we walked to the hospital to speak to Grace who is our contact person to get the road put in.  It started to rain so we slipped under a transport stop and waited for the rain to stop. When we got there, Grace said we needed to get the Secretary to the Ministry of Health (Head Honch) to "sign off" on it. Today was the only day the secretary would be in town. So we walked up to her office to make an appointment, thinking it will take at least a week or two to get in to see her, and there she is coming out of another meeting . She welcomes us into her office and long story short, the road project will go out for tender today!  If it had not rained we would have missed her and the project would be delayed yet again. We are trying to make this year's budget deadline. A small blessing.

Another story: There was yet another fire and another home destroyed. We went to visit the family to see if anything from our emergency container could help them.  There were two young teenage girls there.  They did not speak English. So we called Sister Tawita who is a native, full time senior missionary. We asked her to translate for us over the phone. Which she graciously is willing to do.  However, someone pulls up in a car and talks to the girls before we get a chance. She is Babai, from Ruth's office. She not only translates for us, but drives clear to the other side of the island to find the parents, comes back with them, and helps arrange getting them some needed supplies.

I could go on and on. Seriously, we just stand in awe and watch the Lord work in our behalf. We are always given what we need.

Updates on Projects:

1. Hospital Road - out to tender today

2. School of Nursing - at area presidency waiting for approval

3. Eye clinic - Legal passed off on it so now Elder and Sister Lewis will write it up for approval

4. Project CURE - CURE is an organization that collects and donates used medical equipment. They asked if LDS Charites can pay for the shipping costs. It should be submitted this week for approval.

5. Emergency Response to fires - the approval should come tomorrow.

6. Wheelchairs for Nauru - Uraia will do a site visit at the end of this month. He is doing the visit instead of us because he travels on a Fiji passport and can get into the country without a visa.
