So Many Good People

 Keith and I feel like we have just bounced from one meeting to the next these last couple of weeks.  But they have been good meetings, with good people.  There are so many selfless people all trying to help the good people of Kiribati.  First, there were Elder and Sister Brock from USA.  They were humanitarian missionaries here before covid.  They started a desalination project that will bring clean water to the outer islands of Kiribati along with other countries here in the Pacific.  They are still heading up this project as service missionaries.  They were here on Tarawa this past week.  We were privileged to join them in some of their meetings.  It was amazing to watch them in action.   Pot luck dinner with the Brocks.  They are third from the left.  Next, there are Elder and Sister Brown.  He is another service missionary couple from New Zealand. Half way there

We have been serving 9 months now, which means we are half way through our mission.  Wow, it hardly seems possible.   Kiribati was a cash only economy for a very long time.  It has only started to use credit cards within the last 10 years, if that much.  The accounting practices that companies use reflect this kind of economy.  We have a NGO that is locally based here on Tarawa that we absolutely love to use. They are currently implementing a project that will help clean up the trash on the island. This NGO is doing a great job.  I can see a big difference already.  Given a little time, this island will become the beautiful island it was meant to be. We want to use them again for another project, however Keith is a little concerned about their accounting practices.
