We have another boat project from a different North Tarawa islet, Anatoa.  Yes, it is a copy cat project. However, it can still do the same amount of good as the first one. And we knew this would happen.  This one was harder to put together just because of the personality and skill set of the senior missionary who was requesting the boat.  I sent him home to revise his plan for "sustainability" several times.  But once he got the entire community involved, it came together beautifully.  We submitted it and the committee wanted an evaluation of the first boat project before they recommended approval for the second project.  That's very fair.  We, as project managers, cannot do the evaluation, so Uraia came from Fiji to Nabeina to do the evaluation.  He found that their original plan for maintaining the boat didn't work out so well, so they changed it and now it is working quite well.  It has really improved the living conditions of the village.  So I think Anatoa will get their boat.  We should hear soon.

We attended another fishing contest. I can't remember what kind of fish they were catching that day but the crew that brings in the biggest fish -wins.

Dinner at the fish weigh-in

We moved into a different apartment!  No more rats or mice!! The new apartment is upstairs and smaller but much cleaner and it has a back up generator for the air conditioning.  However, the internet isn't very consistent.  I am very happy with this move.

We are number 6 at the top of the stairs.
The construction guys that were working at the apartment building
came and helped us unload the car.-typical Kiribati kindness

Our bedroom. The stairs are steep and narrow.
We actually walk down them sideways.

I saved the best for last.  The view from our back porch - gorgeous!!!

One of the families from our ward invited us for dinner and FHE.  Such a good family.  It was actually our first truly authentic home made Kiribati dinner..

They have 10 children who are mostly teens and adults.

One of the main courses.
You gotta love the teeth in this fishes mouth.
It tasted really good.

We are at the "contract signing/ purchase order" stage on several of our projects, so lots of paperwork.  Go Keith!

We are always amazed at how much spiritual guidance we receive doing this seemingly temporal work.  We shouldn't be amazed anymore.  We see God's hand in this work all the time.  It should be common place by now.  But it's not.  It is amazing.

We love you all
